IMPACT OF GREEN TECHNOLOGY ON FACTOR CARBON PRODUCTIVITY

Introduction

The phrase "green technology" is used broadly to refer to the use of science and technology in creating environmentally friendly products and services. Green technology is associated with clean tech, specifically used to describe goods or services that increase operational effectiveness while lowering prices, energy use, waste, or adverse environmental effects.

Green technology aims to protect the environment, repair environmental harm from the past, and preserve the planet's natural resources. Green technology is a booming industry that has attracted substantial financial money. Here are the details of the impact of green technology:

Alternatives Energy

Many companies are working on designing alternative energy sources that do not contribute to atmospheric carbon to offer a viable substitute for fossil fuels. At the consumer level, solar and wind energy are currently among the most affordable energy sources, and solar panels are accessible to American homeowners. Tidal and geothermal energy are two possibilities that have not yet been used widely.

Electric Cars

By reusing materials or identifying environmentally friendly alternatives, recycling aims to save finite resources. The most popular recycling methods involve plastic, glass, paper, and metal debris, but more complex processes can be used to recover pricey raw materials from e-waste or auto parts.

Recycling

The carbon capture group of experimental technologies aims to capture and store greenhouse gases either at the place of combustion or from the atmosphere. Although it has extensively promoted this technology, the fossil fuel industry has not yet met expectations.

Compared to annual emissions, the largest carbon capture facility can only hold 4,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.

Capturing carbon

Why is carbon productivity a matter of concern?

The value produced per consumed unit of carbon is known as carbon productivity (e.g., in the form of fossil raw materials such as coal, oil, and natural gas). Thus, increasing carbon productivity means creating more value with fewer carbon-based fossil resources.

Carbon productivity acts as a significant factor for many industries and businesses. It is not only a matter of environmental concern but also an integral part of corporate social responsibility for the firm. It builds the trust of the public and investors, and even the financing activities like loan sanctions in the present day depend on the carbon productivity of the business.

Natural energy sources such as sun, wind, hydropower, etc., are used in green energy. The concept of "green tech" is aware of the rising electricity demand. They highlight renewable energy sources in their workplaces and neighbouring areas, including solar panels, wind turbines, and geothermal wells.

Electrifying vehicles to utilize fewer fossil fuels. Fossil fuels continue to be one of the primary energy sources for more than 84 per cent of the world's population, even though utilizing gasoline or diesel engines emits massive amounts of CO2 and other harmful gases.

There is ecological harmony among the various elements of biodiversity. Technology can be used to research wild animals, but it can also be used to conserve and increase the number of endangered species. Technology can be used to examine wild animals, but it can also be used to preserve and increase the number of endangered species. Green technology promotes gathering data related to flora and fauna in the wild and the elusive behaviour of various species.

Statistically, it can be concluded that green technology has positively affected the carbon productivity of industries. Although there has been much awareness and technological development in this field, a lot of advancement is yet to take place, and initiatives by the firms have to be considered as the environment and non-renewable resources have to be preserved.
